Poverty in Kingston
One of the aims of our service is to campaign to improve the policies that affect people’s lives.
At Kingston CAB we gather evidence of the problems that people have and pass this to policy makers so they can see the impact of their decisions. We hope that this will persuade them to make changes which will alleviate suffering and hardship.
· We keep our clients’ identities confidential, unless they ask us to make their situation known.
· Crowdmap does not show who people are or exactly where they live.Postcodes are indicative of the ward in which a client lives, not their own postcodes.
· By using Crowdmap we hope to show the impact in Kingston of current legislation and how it affects individuals every day.
· We have started our Crowdmap with information about people who have used the local Foodbank so that it can clearly be seen that poverty and hunger is a problem that needs to be addressed in Kingston.
· We hope that this clear evidence will make the policy makers think again about their plans to make social changes which will increase poverty and hardship.
